TEC Indonesia Yogyakarta and The Education Division of TETO Jakarta Organized a Partnership between Madrasah Mu’allimin-Madrasah Mu’allimaat Muhammadiyah in Yogyakarta and Taipei Municipal Zhonglun High School in Taipei

On March 25, 2024, to expand the international collaboration on education and support the students’ advancement, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between Taipei Municipal Zhonglun High School with Madrasah Mu’allimin Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta and Taipei Municipal Zhonglun High School with Madrasah Mu’allimaat Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta was signed in Taipei. The MOU supports the educational cooperation between Zhonglun High School with Madrasah Mu’allimin and Madrasah Mu’allimaat.

Muhammadiyah, as one of the biggest Islamic organizations in Indonesia, has many educational institutions from kindergarten to university levels. Its role in education is very outstanding in Indonesia. This year, two of Muhammadiyah’s educational branches, namely Mu’allimin (boys’school) and Mu’allimaat (girls’ school), have agreed to expand the reach of education for its students through the MOU signing with Zhonglun High School Taiwan.

Grace Ou, the director of the Education Division of TETO Indonesia, delivered a welcoming remark in which she spoke that this MoU indeed commits both schools to work together towards one common goal, which is the pursuit of the internationalization of education. She said that each side will pursue many significant benefits, such as promoting educational and academic exchange between schools, promoting study opportunities, and many others. Cultural and language differences have become key points of internationalization. Grace Ou also thanked Taiwan Education Center (TEC) Indonesia Yogyakarta Regional Office Bima and Dinda for making this activity.

On this occasion, the MOU’s signatories were Dr. Liu Ching-ching, Mr. Aly Aulia, and Ms. Unik Rasyidah. All of them are the school principals of Zhonglun High School, Mu’allimin, and Mu’allimaat, respectively. The MOU signing represents a significant milestone for the academic cooperation between the two parties. With support from the Education Division of TETO Indonesia and Taiwan Education Center Indonesia (TEC), this MOU is hoped to be implemented successfully.
