WEBINAR TEC INDONESIA – YOGYAKARTA WITH NATIONAL KAOHSIUNG UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (NKUST): “INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM AND SCHOLARSHIP IN NATIONAL KAOHSIUNG UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY”

On Thursday (7/7/2022), Taiwan Education Center (TEC) Indonesia Yogyakarta Regional Office held its first Webinar with Taiwan university, National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology (NKUST), entitled “International Program and Scholarship in National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology” via Google Meet. National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology (NKUST) was established on February 1, 2018, by the merger of three universities: National Kaohsiung University of Applied Sciences, National Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology, and National Kaohsiung Marine University, becoming the largest technological university in Taiwan. In this agenda, Ms. Susan Wu and Ms. Penny Tien as the representatives of Office of International Affairs (OIA) and admission of NKUST together with one excellent student of NKUST, Mr. Kevin Adrian, became the speakers of this Webinar.

This Webinar was held to give the participants an introduction and insight about studying in Taiwan especially in NKUST. Ms. Wu explained in detail regarding NKUST and everything we need to know about this university. She also explained about the programs available for international students, scholarship, and the requirements.

Besides Ms. Wu, Ms. Tien delivered a presentation regarding Taiwan Experience Education Program (TEEP) 2022 in NKUST. TEEP was launched by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education to encourage more international students to participate in short-term professional internship projects organized by Taiwanese universities and colleges. Ms. Tien explained in detail about the requirements for applying this program.

The last speaker of the day, Mr. Kevin Adrian shared about his experience during his study in NKUST. Not only explaining about what it is like to be an international student, he also explained about many other things that we must know when we decided to study abroad. Since Kevin is an Indonesian student, he told his story using Bahasa Indonesia and made the participants even more excited to hear his story.

The participants of this Webinar varied from high school students, university students to lecturers from all over Indonesia. This agenda was full of excitement and the participants were very active in taking notes of the presentation and asking many questions to the speakers.
