The Team of Taiwan Education Center (TEC) Indonesia – Yogyakarta visited Universitas Amikom Yogyakarta on Thursday (2/2) to give another seminar of Taiwan’s higher education information. Universitas Amikom Yogyakarta is a private university located in Yogyakarta and currently has 4 faculties, namely Faculty of Computer Science, Faculty of Social and Economics, Faculty of Science and Technology, and Faculty of Master of Informatics Engineering.
On this occasion, TEC Yogyakarta was welcomed by Vice Rector IV, Dr. Arief Setyanto, S.Si., MT and the representative of the International Office, Ms. Rona Guines Purniasiwi. This offline seminar was held together with the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) Seminar which was organized by the international office of Universitas Amikom Yogyakarta.
In this event, as the first speaker before the IISMA presentation, a seminar entitled “Study in Taiwan and Obtain Scholarship” was brought as the theme of TEC’s presentation and being delivered to the participants consisted of students and lecturers, who had joined in the auditorium. The information which was provided was not only about the scholarships offered by the Taiwan government and Taiwan university, but also about the Taiwan Experience Education Program (TEEP), a program which allows the lecturers to gain research experience and internship in Taiwan.
Furthermore, since the 2023 Taiwan’s Ministry of Education (MoE) Scholarship is already open since February 1st, TEC was explaining in detail regarding the program and how to apply to be an awardee of this prestigious scholarship. Not only the students, but also the lecturers were very interested to know deeply regarding this scholarship. They also asked for the possibility of building a connection with Taiwan universities in the future. Hopefully, this agenda could enlighten the students and lecturers regarding studying in Taiwan and obtaining a scholarship there and becoming a beneficial opportunity for Universitas Amikom Yogyakarta as well as for the students and lecturers.
