Taiwan Education Center (TEC) Indonesia – Yogyakarta held a seminar of study and scholarships in Taiwan at Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana on Friday (3/15). This agenda aimed to provide the latest information on Taiwan’s higher education and admission through Ministry of Education (MOE) scholarships and university scholarships as well as to help the participants in deciding the best university for their education journey.
During this seminar, TEC Yogyakarta was welcomed by the Office of Partnerships and Public Relations, represented by Anna Iritasari, S.Si. On this occasion, TEC Yogyakarta introduced its activities and purposes to the participants, who consisted of lecturers and prospective students of UKDW. Following the introduction of TEC, Bima, the manager of TEC Yogyakarta, presented an overview of studying and life in Taiwan and highlighted scholarships and internship programs as the main topics.
Additionally, Bima explained that obtaining a scholarship to Taiwan would provide students with more opportunities in the job-seeking world later. After his presentation, Halim Budi Santoso, S.Kom., MT., MBA., a lecturer from the Faculty of Information Technology of UKDW, also joined by sharing his experience of gaining admission to one of Taiwan’s top universities, National Tsing Hua University (NTHU). Mr. Santoso obtained his Ph.D in the Institute of Service Science, College of Technology Management, NTHU. He told the participants that studying in Taiwan not only gave him a new experience and degree but also allowed him to expand his knowledge in his specialized field and to be connected to many inspiring professors. Hopefully, this agenda could motivate the students as they are eager to secure scholarships for further studies in Taiwan.
