The Taiwan Education Center (TEC) Indonesia Yogyakarta Regional Office organized a virtual sharing session titled “TOCFL Sharing Session: Insights and Strategies” on Wednesday, August 13th, 2024. TEC invited Ms. Shumei Lin, a promotion specialist from the Steering Committee for the Test of Proficiency-Huayu (SC-TOP) in Taiwan, and Ms. Yen-Ping Kuo, a lecturer from the Chinese Learning Center of National Pingtung University, provides an in-depth explanation of the TOCFL test, including an overview of its levels and strategies for each section of the test.

The purpose of this event was to offer participants insights into learning Chinese and preparing for the TOCFL test. Ms. Lin thoroughly detailed the various levels of the TOCFL test, providing section-by-section guidance and preparation tips, and sharing resources for practice. Subsequently, Mr. Kuo from the Chinese Language Center at National Pingtung University elaborated on the preparation strategies and test day tips (enriching the participants’ vocabulary, emphasizing on the understanding of the structures that will be faced by the test takers. Following Ms. Kuo’s presentation, Professor Lan-fen Huang, the Director of the Chinese Language Center at National Pingtung University, delivered a brief overview of the center and its various programs.

After the presentation, the speakers engaged in a discussion with the moderator and participants, addressing questions related to the topic. The session was open to the public and attracted a diverse audience, including high school students, university students, and lecturers from various cities and institutions. The session was highly informative, and participants actively took notes throughout the presentations.
