The Taiwan Education Center (TEC) Yogyakarta team recently visited SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta to hold a seminar aimed at providing students with valuable insights into studying in Taiwan. The event took place on Thursday, January 10th, 2025, from 09:30 AM to 11:00 AM, and was warmly welcomed by the school’s Vice Principal for Public Relations, Ms. Yuli Astuti, M.Pd.
Ms. Yuli Astuti opened the seminar with a welcoming speech, expressing the school’s excitement for the collaboration and the opportunity for students to learn more about higher education options in Taiwan. She emphasized the importance of international exposure and encouraged students to explore opportunities for further studies abroad.
The TEC team’s seminar, titled “Study in Taiwan: Planning Your Academic Journey,” provided students with detailed information about higher education opportunities in Taiwan, particularly focusing on scholarship programs offered by the Taiwanese government and universities. One of the key highlights was the upcoming Taiwan Ministry of Education (MoE) Taiwan Scholarship 2025, which is set to open for Indonesian students in February 2025. The TEC team emphasized how this scholarship could provide significant support for students looking to pursue undergraduate or postgraduate studies in Taiwan.
During the session, Bima, the TEC manager, introduced several scholarship programs, including the Huayu Enrichment Scholarship (HES), which offers Indonesian students the opportunity to study the Chinese language in Taiwan. This scholarship allows students to immerse themselves in Taiwan’s culture and language while learning directly from native speakers at the Chinese Learning Centers (CLC) across Taiwan.
Additionally, Bima gave an overview of the Taiwan Experience Education Program (TEEP), a unique opportunity for students to engage in hands-on learning experiences and cultural exchange in Taiwan.
The seminar concluded with a lively Question and Answer session, where students had the chance to learn more about the practical aspects of studying in Taiwan, including challenges such as language barriers and cultural adaptation.
