Tuesday (17/09/2019). “Taiwan enjoys excellent global competitiveness in spite of limited land and natural resources. According to the Global Competitiveness Report 2017 published by the World Economic Forum (WEF), Taiwan ranked 17th in “Higher Education and Training”. One reason for Taiwan’s economic prowess is its quality human resources, which also brings positive effect on industry innovation“, said Zulfiani Ayu Astutik during her presentation in SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Bantul.

This visit is one of the Taiwan Education Center Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (TEC-UMY)’s journey to deliver all information about scholarship and educational programs provided by Taiwan.

Zulfi also explained that Taiwan has many universities, both public and private. Tuition is less expensive in public universities than in private universities, like in most western countries. Many public universities receive financial support from the government.
Attended by more than 80 students who were very welcome the TEC-UMY team arrival, the officer of TEC-UMY, Zulfi explained on the Facts about Taiwan Education System. Zulfi also emphasizing about  “live in Taiwan” including living cost and the campus environment. Also, she delivered some requirements to apply for the scholarship in Taiwan. The scholarship application, its submission and processes also included in presentation’s guideline.
The students’ feedback for presentation was also high, it can be seen from the questions arose. They concerned were the tricks and tips to get the sufficient TOEFL score and programs that available in the scholarship.
