To help mandarin teachers in Indonesia in developing their teaching skills and ability, Taiwan Education Center (TEC) Indonesia – Yogyakarta has held a training program called “Online Mandarin Teacher Training 2022” by using Google Meet as the platform, on Saturday and Sunday (September 17-18, 2022).

This program was arranged by TEC Yogyakarta in collaboration with the Mandarin Learning Center (MLC) of Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU), Taiwan. The instructors who taught the participants during the program were all native Chinese speakers from MLC-CYCU. During this program, the instructors explained several materials to the participants such as Mandarin Teaching Design: Reading and Writing, Mandarin Teaching and Assessment,Resources Utilization in Internet
with Mandarin Teaching, Mandarin Teaching Design:Listening & Speaking and how to optimize Mandarin teaching by using resources from the Internet. 

The participants who have joined this program mostly come from professional fields such as lecturers from the Chinese Department, high school Mandarin teachers and there were also some participants who are still university students of the Chinese Department but already had some experiences in teaching Mandarin as private teachers. Some of them also had experiences as Mandarin interpreters in formal occasions.

Even though this program was only held for two days, there were many benefits such as knowledge and information that have been shared to the participants. Overall, the participants really enjoyed the training and they showed big enthusiasm during the class. The instructors were all giving their best performance in teaching the participants and made this program a success.
