Taiwan Education Center Hosts Seminar at SMK Perindustrian Yogyakarta

On May 19, 2025, The Taiwan Education Center (TEC) Yogyakarta conducted an informative seminar at SMK Perindustrian Yogyakarta, a private vocational school specializing in Industrial Chemistry and Mechanical Assembly. The event aimed to provide students with insights into higher education and international internship opportunities in Taiwan.

Prior to the seminar, the TEC team was warmly received by the school’s principal, Mr. Valen, in his office. While he did not deliver a speech, his hospitality reflected the school’s openness to global collaboration and educational development for its students.

The seminar, titled “Study in Taiwan: Planning Your Academic Journey,” introduced students to Taiwan’s academic environment, including programs offered in English, application procedures, and the benefits of studying in a tech-forward and culturally rich country.

Bima, Manager of TEC Yogyakarta, highlighted several exciting programs during the session. He discussed the Taiwan Ministry of Education (MoE) Taiwan Scholarship, which supports undergraduate and postgraduate studies. Although the 2025 application period has ended, Bima noted that the scholarship opens every year from February 1 to March 1.

In addition, Bima introduced the Taiwan Experience Education Program (TEEP), an internship-based initiative sponsored by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education. TEEP offers international students, including those from Indonesia, experience in Taiwanese universities and industries, making it a great opportunity for vocational school students interested in gaining practical experience abroad.

Another featured program was the Mandarin Summer Camp 2025 at Da Yeh University, which gives students a chance to study Mandarin and explore Taiwanese culture through a two-week immersive experience. The students of SMK Perindustrian Yogyakarta showed strong interest in the opportunities presented, particularly those that align with their technical backgrounds.
