Taiwan Education Center (TEC) Indonesia Yogyakarta Regional Office held the 2nd sharing session of Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL) entitled “Chinese for Beginner: What You Need to Know About TOCFL Preparation” on Thursday (14/7/2022) via Google Meet. In this agenda, TEC invited Ms. Teresa Lin (Testing Coordinator, Division of Test Extension, TOCFL) from Steering Committee for the Test of Proficiency-Huayu (SC-TOP) Taiwan and Ms. Sri Andayani Wasionoputri, MTSOL (Xiao Suzhen) who is a professional Mandarin Teacher from Indonesia. The Committee of SC-TOP aims to develop and promote an effective Chinese assessment system, mainly the Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL; formerly known as TOP), for Chinese learners worldwide to assess their Chinese proficiency.
This agenda was held to give the participants an insight of learning Chinese for those who are preparing for their TOCFL test especially for Band A. Ms. Lin explained in detail regarding TOCFL from what is TOCFL, what is required to pass the band A in TOCFL, what is the tips and trick and many others. Ms. Lin and Ms. Xiao collaborated in delivering the explanation of the topic. They discussed with the moderator and participants afterwards.
The sharing session was opened for public, and the participants varied from high school students, university students to lecturers from all over Indonesia. This agenda was full of excitement and the participants were very active in answering the questions, taking notes of the presentation, and asking many questions to Ms. Lin and Ms. Xiao.
