On Thursday (7/25), the Taiwan Education Center (TEC) Yogyakarta visited SMK Koperasi Yogyakarta, one of the vocational high schools in Yogyakarta. This visit is aimed to promote and inform people about higher education including the scholarships as well as the internship program provided by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education (MOE) and Taiwan universities. TEC Yogyakarta presented in front of more than 100 students at this school.

The students were enthusiastic during the slide presentation, and they paid attention to the presentation. A lot of them threw questions about education in Taiwan and the process of applying for the universities there. Not only interested in the scholarships, students were also eager to know further about the internship program which is applicable to them as provided by MOE Taiwan. 

Furthermore, Bima, the manager of TEC Yogyakarta, gave suggestions and advice for students to get the scholarship and prepare all the necessary requirements for Taiwan’s government scholarship in 2025. Since Taiwan’s government scholarships are only open once every year (from Feb. 1 to Mar. 31 every year), Bima suggested the students be more attentive to the requirements and procedures. Not only students but also teachers were very enthusiastic about learning more about these programs.

Hopefully, after this presentation, students will obtain useful information regarding Taiwan and its education system. We expect that the students could be more motivated to continue their study overseas, especially in Taiwan, and could pursue a greater career path afterward.
