Sharing The Experience and Information of Huayu Enrichment Scholarship, TEC Yogyakarta Held Taiwan Alumni Talks #1: Huayu Enrichment Scholarship (HES) Awardees

On Saturday (6/10), Taiwan Education Center (TEC) Indonesia – Yogyakarta Regional Office invited two awardees of Taiwan’s Ministry of Education Scholarships; Huayu Enrichment Scholarship (HES); to hold a sharing session entitled “Taiwan Alumni Talks #1: Huayu Enrichment Scholarship (HES) Awardees”.  The awardees who became the speakers are Tri Anggoro Putro and Anggian Nailani. The agenda was held virtually via Microsoft Teams with more than 100 participants joining the agenda. 

Tri Anggoro Putro or Tri, became the first speaker, and shared his A-Z experience with all the participants.  As one of the recipients of 2022’s HES Scholarship, Tri explained that from the first time he applied for the scholarship until he prepared for his departure to Taiwan, everything went smoothly accordingly. Tri was a recipient of HES Scholarship to Kun Shan University, Tainan.  During his study, he said that not only was the benefit of learning Mandarin that he gained but he also had many cultural experiences and new friends from various communities.  

After the first speaker, Anggian Nailani or Anggi, shared her experience as the recipient of 2022’s HES Scholarship to Providence University, Taichung. She explained that studying and living in Taiwan was not as difficult as what people out there think. Even though, as an Indonesian, we do not learn Mandarin in our everyday life, everything is still manageable if we want to learn and adapt to the new environment. 

Moreover, Tri and Anggi have shared and explained beneficial information and experience throughout the agenda and discussed many things with the moderator and participants afterwards. The sharing session was open for public, and the participants varied from students to lecturers from various cities in Indonesia. This agenda was full of excitement and the participants were very active in the discussion by throwing a lot of questions to the speaker.
