Taiwan Education Center (TEC) Indonesia – Yogyakarta Regional Office invited two alumni of master’s degree from Taiwanese universities to hold a webinar entitled “Taiwan Alumni Talks #3: Pursuing Your Master’s Degree in Taiwan”. The speakers for the webinar were both Master graduates from top-notch universities in Taiwan, M. Ashari Fitra and Magdalena Widada. The speakers shared their in-depth experiences during their study in Taiwan and encouraged the participants to prepare themselves for their upcoming study endeavors in Taiwan on Monday (8/28) virtually.
In the first session, M. Ashari Fitra, a Master graduate of the Department of Shipping and Transportation Management of National Taiwan Ocean University (NTOU), shared his experience of being a student in NTOU. After graduating from his department, Ashari told the participants that he gained a high quality of education, and he said that Taiwan is one of the most recommended destinations for those who would like to continue their study in the best education institutions with an affordable tuition and living cost.
After Ashari’s presentation, Magdalena Widada or Magda, a Master graduate from the Graduate Institute of Mass Communication at National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU), continued the sharing session. Magda, who is now coming back to Indonesia to work in a professional field, told the participants that being a student in Taiwan is not as difficult as it looks since Taiwan’s cities in general have very friendly and helpful people and are very welcome to internalization including international students. During her study at NTNU, Magda was offered with so many opportunities to develop her skills in her field.
The webinar was open to the public, and the participants varied from students of senior high schools to universities. This agenda was full of excitement and the participants were very active in the discussion by throwing a lot of questions to the speakers. Hopefully, this webinar could brighten the insights of the participants towards Taiwan and why we should consider studying there.
