As part of its ongoing Roadshow Seminar series, Taiwan Education Center (TEC) Yogyakarta visited Universitas Baiturrahmah in Padang on December 19, 2024, to provide essential information about studying in Taiwan and guide participants in exploring various scholarship and internship opportunities at Taiwanese universities.
The seminar was warmly welcomed by Prof. Dr. Ir. Musliar Kasim, M.S, the Rector of Universitas Baiturrahmah, who expressed his appreciation for TEC Yogyakarta’s efforts in helping Indonesian students discover opportunities for higher education in Taiwan. He was joined by faculty members, staff, and other stakeholders from the university, creating a supportive environment for prospective students.
The seminar, titled “Seminar Study Abroad Session: Scholarship and Internship in Taiwan 2025,” aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding of studying in Taiwan, with a focus on scholarship and internship programs available for Indonesian students. TEC Yogyakarta introduced several key opportunities, including the prestigious MOE Taiwan Scholarship and the HES Scholarship, as well as the Taiwan Experience and Education Program (TEEP) for internships in Taiwan.
One of the highlights of the seminar was the MOE Taiwan Scholarship, which is offered by the Taiwanese Ministry of Education. This scholarship provides full funding for undergraduate and graduate students, covering tuition fees, living expenses, and other costs, making it an ideal opportunity for students seeking to pursue higher education in Taiwan.
TEC Yogyakarta also introduced the HES Scholarship, a special program designed for students who wish to study Mandarin in Taiwan. The HES Scholarship offers financial support for students to enroll in Mandarin language programs at Taiwanese universities. This scholarship is an excellent opportunity for students who want to immerse themselves in the Chinese language and culture, improving their language proficiency while experiencing life in Taiwan.
Additionally, the Taiwan Experience and Education Program (TEEP) was presented as an exciting internship opportunity for students. TEEP allows students to gain valuable work experience in Taiwan through internships at various Taiwanese companies and institutions. This program is an excellent way for students to enhance their professional skills, build international networks, and improve their understanding of the global job market, all while experiencing Taiwanese culture firsthand.
The seminar aimed to equip prospective students with the knowledge and resources they need to make informed decisions about their education and career paths. By the end of the session, participants had a clearer understanding of the scholarship options, internships, and academic programs available in Taiwan. The seminar concluded with a Q&A session, where students were able to ask questions and receive personalized advice about studying and interning in Taiwan.
